We are planning for an in-person, live OK5k race this year in the village of Kinderhook on the second Saturday of June -- as it has been since 1999 (with a two-year pandemic absence). The 5K race will begin at 9:00 am. The 1-mile kids race (ages 4-12) will begin at 8:15. The Library Ramble dash for ages 6 and under will begin at 8:40 am. This will be the format of the races that you have loved and supported for the past 20 years.
You are encouraged to register online and in advance at https://zippyreg.com/register/ok5k. But you can also download and mail in our registration form with check payable to OK 5K. More details available on our Registration Page.
Volunteers are needed in various roles -- course marshals, registration, finish line, starting line, kids race, refreshments, setup and cleanup -- for day of race and evening before race day. All volunteers receive a t-shirt. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
All proceeds from the OK5k Race are donated to local non-profit, charitable organizations. in 2019, the OK5k Race donated $10,200 to 16 different organizations. In its 20+ years, the race has provided over $136,000 to local non-proft organizations. All of those contributions go back directly to the Northern Columbia community, benefiting groups such as Boy Scouts, school clubs, fire departments, libraries, food pantries, fraternal organizations, youth organizations, rescue squads, historical societies, trails and fitness. Please continue to support this truly community-based event. It's not just about running.
Along with our major sponsor -- Kinderhook Bank -- dozens of local businesses, organizations, and individuals make the OK5k possible. Please visit our sponsor's page and support them when you're in the area.
